The Quad, Denny Chimes, Big Al—and all the houndstooth—are about to become part of your everyday life. But before all of that, you’re about to Find Your Letters through sorority recruitment.
Did you know the University of Alabama Panhellenic Association hosts one of the largest sorority recruitments in the country? With more than 2,500 PNMs each year, you’re not just participating in recruitment—you’re participating in one of the most competitive recruitments, too. Home of ‘Bama Rush/RuskTok on TikTok, Alabama PNMs have been giving everyone a taste of what the recruitment process is like in Tuscaloosa. But don’t let that intimidate you! Alabama sororities boast strong GPAs, lots of philanthropy work, and most of all - tons of fun (think date parties, Big/Little events, football games and more!)!

Recruitment 2026 Dates
Friday, May 1: Registration Opens
Thursday & Friday, August 6th & 7th: PNM move-in days
Saturday, August 8: Convocation & Open House Video
Sunday, August 9: Philanthropy Day I (Sorority Row)
Monday, August 10: Philanthropy Day II (Sorority Row)
Tuesday, August 11: Philanthropy Day III (Sorority Row)
*PNMs can attend a max of 12 chapters during philanthropy round.
These rounds are 30 minutes long and PNMs will wear provided t-shirts to these parties.
Wednesday, August 12: Sisterhood Day I (Sorority Row)
Thursday, August 13: Sisterhood Day II (Sorority Row)
Friday, August 14: Sisterhood Day III (Sorority Row)
*PNMs can attend a max of 7 chapters during sisterhood round.
These rounds are 40 minutes long and PNMs will wear cute sundresses or brunch attire to these parties.
Saturday, August 15: Preference Day (Sorority Row)
*PNMs can attend a max of 2 chapters on Pref.
These rounds are 50 minutes long and the most formal of the rounds. PNMs will cute, flattering cocktail dresses and heels or wedges.
Sunday, August 16: Bid Day (Bryant Denny Stadium & Sorority Row)🎉
For the perfect Alabama Bid Day outfit, think comfortable and stylish in white (so you don’t clash with your new Bid Day shirt!). Popular options include athleisure dresses, rompers, or a skirt and top combo that can easily be worn under a sorority t-shirt.

FyL FYI: What to know about Alabama recruitment
The doors might not open until August, but sorority recruitment is already happening! It’s important to get on chapters’ radars as soon as you commit to Alabama. Make connections, visit campus if you can, and find ways to stand out.
Get those letters of recommendation in early! These are essential at Alabama, and submitting them sooner rather than later allows recruitment teams to start learning about you. It can also open the door for opportunities like summer coffee dates or PNM events.
PNM videos are submitted in advance, and it’s so important to knock yours out of the park. This is your time to shine—stand out and leave them wanting to get to know you more.
