Did you know? Southern Methodist University is now in its third year of holding sorority recruitment in August! After previously being a deferred recruitment campus for years, SMU now recruits in the fall—giving PNMs an extra semester of soaking up sorority life right from the start.

Friday, August 21: Preference Round ✨
What to Wear: Your “Sunday Best” dress
Keep it classy and elevated — skip the sequins and long gowns.
You’ll visit max up to 2 houses today!
Saturday, August 22: Bid Day 🎉
What to Wear: A white or plain tee/tank (you’ll wear your new house jersey over it!) + a black/plain athletic skirt.
You will literally be RUNNING home to your new sisters, so wear comfy shoes — think Hoka, not heels! 💕

FyL FYI: What to know about SMU recruitment
· The doors might not open until August, but sorority recruitment is already happening! It’s important to get on chapters’ radars as soon as you commit to SMU. Make connections, visit campus if you can, and find ways to stand out.
· Get those letters of recommendation in early! These are essential at SMU, and submitting them sooner rather than later allows recruitment teams to start learning about you. It can also open the door for opportunities like summer coffee dates or PNM events.
· PNM videos are submitted in advance, and it’s so important to knock yours out of the park. This is your time to shine—stand out and leave them wanting to get to know you more.
