Class Of Insta Accounts

What you should know before you post on your college “Class of” Insta accounts?

There are so many ways sororities start getting to know you before you ever arrive on campus—and chances are, you’re already putting a lot of time and effort into getting those details just right.

The place we see everyone focus on the most? Your recruitment resume. And you’re smart to do that. You pick the perfect photo, go over every word, and make sure it truly reflects who you are. You also probably already know how to keep your Instagram and TikTok looking polished and put together.

But there’s one piece that often gets overlooked: the Instagram “Class of” posts.

These are the pages where you introduce yourself, look for a roommate, and start connecting with other incoming freshmen before sorority recruitment. It’s such a fun way to meet people early—but it’s also another first impression. And just like everything else in the process, you want to make sure it’s working in your favor.

Here are a few quick tips we strongly recommend:

  • Posting a few great photos is better than posting a lot of photos.

  • It’s great to include a picture with friends—but one is all you need to show “yep, I have friends.” 😉

  • Keep your caption focused on you, not “we”—you don’t want to come across like a package deal with your roommate.

  • Skip photos with a boyfriend—this is your time to shine. You do not want to seem like your boyfriend takes all your time.

At the end of the day, think about the feeling your post gives someone when they come across it. You want it to say:

  • You’re excited about college.

  • You have great friends and love sharing the fun times.

  • You know how to present a fun, polished version of yourself in the digital world.

It’s a small piece of the sorority recruitment process—but like so many parts of rush, the little things can make a big difference. And when you put thought into each step, it all adds up to helping you feel confident and it increases your odds to have more options going through rush.
